Communication for Development training + applied practice

I write long-form profiles of grassroots associations to help them reach the partners they actually need: diaspora networks, NGOs, CSR programs, and foundations. My background is Communication for Development (Bachelor's specialization, Université de Ouagadougou) and I work in French and English. The editorial line is simple: the impact should not require humiliation. No trauma marketing, no exploitative imagery, no exposure of beneficiaries. Action over exposure. Dignity over guilt.

Impact

Published the first bilingual long-form profile of AN KA SININASIGI ('Our Future'), a grassroots association in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, founded by entrepreneur and former professional footballer Issouf Safo Koné.

Reframed the association's work for partner reach without exposing beneficiaries.

Built a partner-outreach narrative around diaspora distribution, realistic NGO/CSR partnerships, and skills-based volunteering.

Established dignity-led storytelling as an explicit editorial principle rather than implicit positioning.

Documented how local entrepreneurship supports sustainable community action instead of dependency-based narratives.

Playbook

1

Listen first. Start with a real conversation before writing. Map the trajectory, current action, and boundaries around dignity and visibility.

2

Frame the story around action rather than exposure. The reader should feel motivated by the work, not guilt.

3

Write twice. French original first, then an English rewrite adapted for international partner reach.

4

Build every story around 3 concrete partner asks: distribution, partnerships, and skills-based volunteering.

5

Validate before publishing. Founders approve details tied to beneficiaries, finances, and operational realities.

6

Atomize the story into multiple formats: article, social adaptations, and outreach summaries.
